Great news for parents as three in every hundred children in Australia is allergic to peanuts and in danger to suffer from anaphylaxis.
A clinical trial of oral immunotherapy conducted in the US involved 40 children aged between 9 and 36 months with about 80% of them being able to incorporate peanuts into their diet after the trial. The trial lasted 29 months on average.
During the trial each participant was assigned either a low-dose or a high-dose oral immunotherapy. Please read this article for details.
