Allergy free peanuts for the future

It'd be great not having to worry about peanut allergy in the future!
Well, it might be closer than we think. Based on research by a group of scientists, including Australian from the University of western Australia the decoding of peanut DNA will allow the improvement of crops as well as the possible eradication of peanut allergies.
However there is the issue that the production of allergen free peanuts would require the use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and the use of GMOs is highly controversial.
